What are Mobalt App and Mobalt Admin?

Mobalt offers its clients two software tools with partially distinct, partially overlapping, but ultimately complementary functions. Mobalt App is designed for corporate users who want to explore mobility alternatives for their commute, track their routes with the Bikecoin feature or shared mobility via carpooling, book mobility solutions, reserve a company parking spot or a desk, conveniently pay for transportation tickets, communicate with the Mobalt Staff or other users from the same company, shuttle service, or carpooling team. It’s a tool for everyday use.

Mobalt Admin is a management tool mainly used by Mobility Managers who need to view user and reservation lists related to their company, manage corporate parking, handle accounting, import employee mobility data, assess the company’s mobility potential, monitor the progress of various incentive campaigns for active and/or shared mobility, and more.

Who develops Mobalt products?

Mobalt products are developed by the company Mobitrends S.A.

How much does it cost?

Mobalt IT products are part of a modular service aimed at companies whose subscription price varies according to the number of employees of the company itself. Contact us for an offer.
The use of the tools for the business user, on the other hand, is free of charge.

Who can see my personal data?

We suggest reading the Mobalt's Privacy Policy.

Are there any rules for those who want to access carpooling?

Mobalt requires that anyone offering their car for carpooling checks with their liability insurance provider (RC) to confirm that they are allowed to transport passengers and that the policy covers all passengers and any possible consequences of an accident during the journey. Please note that liability insurance is mandatory for all motor vehicles. At the time of a vehicle's registration, proof of RC insurance is essential.  The driver must also confirm they hold a valid driver's license, operate the vehicle with a blood alcohol level of zero per mille, and are free from the influence of any substances.  Each participant agrees to abide by Mobalt's Carpooling Regulations, which require courteous and respectful behavior, avoiding any actions that may disrupt the proper functioning of the service. If any issues arise, please report them immediately to Mobalt's customer service (+41 77 453 90 26 or  info@mobalt.ch).

Is Mobalt free to use?

The use of the Mobalt app is free for corporate users.

I received a company code. What should I do?

If you have received a six-character alphanumeric code, it means that your company is registered with Mobalt services and you are therefore authorized to use the Mobalt app as a corporate user.
Once the Mobalt app has been downloaded from the store and opened, click on 'Register' below and enter the company code in the appropriate field before starting the process of creating your user account.

I registered for the Mobalt app but I am no longer part of the company: what should I do?

You can delete your account at any time by going to the 'Account' section of the app. Further information about the processing of your personal data, on Mobalt's Privacy Policy

I forgot my password. How can I retrieve this information?

After opening the Mobalt app, click on 'Forgotten? ' and enter your e-mail; you will receive a link from which you can reset your password.

Recommendations
What do the recommendations that the app shows me in this section refer to?

They are the best alternatives for your home-work trips (or any other itinerary you are interested in) based on the information provided during the registration process.

What route, date and time are they based on?

The proposed alternatives take into account the address you entered as departure and the arrival address (filled in by default with that of the company) and the usual working hours indicated by you. By default, the solutions available for the next day are shown, but it is possible to change this parameter in the search settings.

How can I change my search criteria?

When you are on the 'Recommendations' page, click on the orange addresses at the top to open the search parameters page.

I changed my search criteria but the results remain the same: why?

The results are the same because the new itinerary is probably very similar to the previous one.

What does the green radial graph that appears next to each alternative represent?

The percentage attributed to each proposed alternative represents the degree of suitability for the itinerary for which you searched. The more complete the green circle on the graph is, the more suitable that alternative is for following that itinerary. Alternatives with a degree of suitability of less than 20% are not shown as they are considered not feasible in reality. The app shows the alternatives ranked (or ordered) from most suitable to least suitable. It is possible to draw up the ranking of suggestions by choosing between four different indicators: travel speed, environmental impact, physical activity, economic savings.

How is the degree of eligibility of a mobility option calculated by choosing the travel speed indicator?

The eligibility percentage is calculated with our specific algorithm that combines different criteria, including the duration of the trip compared to the same route taken by car. The lower the values of these parameters, the more suitable the alternative is considered.

How can I get more information about the proposed alternatives?

You can view the details of the round trip of each proposed alternative, simply by clicking on it as shown in this tutorial.

Bikecoin
How can I record my itineraries?

It is necessary to manually activate the tracking with the 'Start trip' button. For the interruption, you can do it manually or let the app take care of it automatically, checking that you have first activated the option 'Automatic tracking interruption at destination' available in the Bikecoin settings.

How does the Mobalt app understand that I have arrived at my destination?

By default, the address of your home and that of the head office of the company you work for are registered as possible start/arrival points. However, if there are other addresses that you regularly use during your work week (for example your partner's home, a hotel, the headquarters of a supplier, a customer, a different location of your company), it is strongly recommended to register them in Bikecoin favorites. This operation will facilitate not only any automatic interruption upon reaching the destination, but also the automatic approval of the itinerary through our algorithm.

What means can I use to collect bikecoins?

The program allows you to track routes taken on foot, by scooter (muscular or electric) and by bicycle (muscular or electric). Before activating tracking, select your mode of travel from the drop-down menu next to the 'Start trip' button. Please note: Different campaigns may provide for the incentive of only some modes of travel. The attribution of bikecoins may vary based on the mode of travel.

How does the Mobalt app recognize the vehicle I'm using and approve/reject the itinerary?

Our algorithm is based on speed recognition functions compared to the type of vehicle indicated by the user and the slope of the stretch he is traveling. In addition, the points of departure and arrival must coincide with home and work or with two of those entered by the user in his favorites. When all these parameters are verified, the itinerary is automatically approved; otherwise the system requires manual analysis by the Mobalt staff who will decide whether to accept or reject the itinerary. The Mobalt staff may contact the user to ask for more details.

If my route also involves the use of public transport (train/bus), do I have to trace a single route?

No, before getting on public transport you must make sure to end the active tracking. Do not use the 'Pause' button. If, when you get off the vehicle, you need to register a valid trip for Bikecoin again, start a new tracking.

When should I use the 'Pause' button?

The 'Pause' button is intended for occasional use during normal travel: ideally, the point at which you pause tracking and the point at which you resume it should coincide. The 'Pause' button should be used, for example, when, along the route, you need to make purchases (e.g. grocery shopping), or you stop for training at the gym, or for an aperitif. It should not be used when you get on public transport or when you are at work.

My tracks are irregular and imprecise. What can I do?

Check that the app has permissions (location, fitness data...), verify that battery low power mode is turned off, verify that the phone does not go into standby while using the app, verify that the tracking is started outdoors (not at home, in the garage or under canopies).

Carpooling
How can I record my itineraries?

From the main menu, if you are the driver, access the 'Carpooling tracking' page and manually activate the tracking by pressing the 'Start trip' button. Upon arrival, you can manually stop the tracking by pressing the 'Finish' button, or let the app do it automatically, if the 'Automatic tracking interruption at destination' option has been activated (available only on iOS and selectable in the settings on the function page).
Passengers do not need to track their trips, since, once the driver has scanned the QR code, the trips will automatically appear in their summary list.

How can I create a carpool crew?

From the 'Carpooling' page, in the 'Driver' tab, it is possible to create a crew following the steps proposed by the app, and manage its characteristics.
The driver has the task of accepting or rejecting the requests of passengers who want to join the crew, which will be automatically delivered to the app's chat.

How can I find a crew to join?

The first method is from the 'Carpooling' page, in the 'Passenger' tab, pressing the 'Search for a team' button and entering the name of the crew you want to join.
The second method is from the 'Recommendations' page, selecting any crew that the app offers as a solution for your transport needs.

My tracks are irregular and imprecise. What can I do?

Check that the app has permissions (location, motion data...), verify that battery lower power mode is turned off, verify that the phone does not go into standby while using the app, verify that the tracking is started outdoors (not at home, in the garage or under thick canopies).

Parkings
How do I book a parking space?

From the main menu, access the 'Reservations' page and, from the 'New' tab, click the 'Parking' button. Select the area, date, time slot and continue, entering the requested data and finalizing the booking. Once the procedure is complete, your booking will appear in the 'Active' tab. Please note: Rules may apply that allow booking only within certain time limits.

How do I cancel a booking?

From the 'Reservations' page, in the 'Active' tab, you can select the item you want to cancel and delete it by pressing the trash can icon. Please note: Rules may apply that allow the cancellation of a reservation only within certain time limits.

How is the payment for the use of the parking lot made?

At the beginning of the month, Mobalt produces the invoices for the parking spaces used in the previous month and uploads them to the app on the 'Invoices' page, which you can find in the profile section (accessible by clicking on the little man icon at the bottom right). From here it is possible to view and pay the issued invoice. For more information, please read the FAQ in the 'Invoices' section.

Shuttles
How do I reserve a seat on the shuttle?

From the main menu, access the 'Reservations' page and, from the 'New' tab, click the 'Shuttle Line' button. Select the line, the reference stop, the date, any desired trip and continue, finalizing the booking. Once the procedure is complete, your booking will appear in the 'Active' tab. Please note: Rules may apply that allow booking only within certain time limits.

How do I cancel a booking?

From the 'Reservations' page, in the 'Active' tab, you can select the item you want to cancel and delete it by pressing the trash can icon. Please note: Rules may apply that allow the cancellation of a reservation only within a certain time limit.

How can I know if the shuttle is on time?

From the 'Shuttles' page, you can select the reference line and view the routes of each trip, the stop times and the position of the vehicle on the map in real time (only for active trips).

How do I pay for the use of the shuttle?

At the beginning of the month, Mobalt produces the invoices for the tickets used in the previous month and uploads them to the app on the 'Invoices' page, which you can find in the profile section (accessible by clicking on the little man icon at the bottom right). From here it is possible to view and pay the issued invoice. For more information, please read the FAQ in the 'Invoices' section.

Invoices
Which Mobalt services are subject to payment?

The services potentially subject to payment through the issuance of an invoice by Mobitrends SA are shuttles and parking lots. The rate is decided by the company to which you belong.

What is the deadline for the issuance of invoices?

At the beginning of each month, final invoices are produced for the services you used during the previous month.

Where can I find the invoices on the Mobalt app?

Enter the profile section (the little man icon at the bottom right) and select the item 'Invoices'; here you will find all your invoices. The document statuses may be as follows:
• “Issued” when you have not yet paid the invoice but are within the payment due date
• “In payment” when you made the payment by credit card but confirmation must still be received from the delegated platform
• "Paid" when the payment of the invoice was successful
• “Late” when you haven't yet paid your bill after the payment deadline.

Can I download the bill to my phone?

By selecting the issued invoice, you can view its details. From here you can download it in pdf format to your device, by clicking on the share symbol at the top right.

How do I pay my invoices?

It is possible to pay invoices by credit card directly from the Mobalt app. By selecting the issued invoice, proceed to enter your card details by clicking on the 'Pay' button below. In this case, payment processing is immediate. In addition, if you have a credit card saved in the payment methods and you do not proceed with the manual payment, after 10 days from the issuance of the invoice, it is automatically paid by the Mobalt app, using the card set as the main payment method.
It is also possible to pay the invoice by bank transfer, indicating the invoice number in the reason for payment. However, this procedure involves a manual review by Mobalt and therefore you may see the invoice change to the 'Paid' status after some time.

Can I save my credit card for future payments?

Go to the profile section (little man icon at the bottom right) and select 'Payment methods'. When you receive a new invoice, you can pay it by choosing the card you prefer or let the app automatically pay the invoice for you ten days after it was issued.

Which credit cards are accepted?

American Express, China UnionPay (CUP), Discover & Diners Club, eftpos Australia, Japan Credit Bureau (JCB), Mastercard, Visa

What is Mobalt Admin and how is it different from Mobalt App?

Mobalt Admin is an IT tool exclusively in a web version, designed primarily for Mobility Managers of companies who need to view data tables on their company's mobility, related accounting, statistics and forecasts, import data, and more. The functionality of the Admin can be customized according to the company's requests.

I'm a Mobility Manager, what can I find in Mobalt Admin?

Mobalt Admin offers various functions to the Mobility Manager, some included in the basic package, others that can be unlocked depending on the packages that the company decides to include in its subscription. Basic features include:
· Importing the personal data of company personnel
· Management of corporate users and visualization on a map of the origins of employees
· Report with map view of where employees come from, second shift work, and other indicators
· Chat for communication with collaborators who have downloaded the Mobalt app

Analysis
How can I register the data of my company's employees?

You are provided with a pre-set excel sheet to fill in with the data of your company's employees. After that, the Mobalt staff will proceed with uploading to the platform and producing the report of mobility potentials.

What data about my employees can Mobalt Admin contain?

How can I detect the mobility habits of my employees?

It is possible to disclose surveys and questionnaires to your collaborators, whose answers are collected directly through Mobalt App or Mobalt Admin. The outcome is then provided by the Mobalt Staff to the Mobility Manager in the form of a short report.

Can I do personalized surveys in order to collect specific information of my interest?

Yes, it's possible. However, it is necessary to contact the Mobalt Staff (+41 77 453 90 26) or info@mobalt.ch) in order to define the questions, implementation times and costs of the personalized survey.

What specific functions are provided for managing carpooling?

In the Teams section, there is a list of carpooling groups created by the user. The information collected is the name of the team, number of seats on board, number of members already registered, kilometers traveled on a trip, departure and arrival addresses, times of arrival at and departure from the place of work, make and model of the vehicle, license plate, color, name of the team members, pending requests.
